First impressions

It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances. The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible. Oscar Wilde

Fact: People form 90% of their opinion of someone in the first 90 seconds.

What conclusions can you draw from the following information?
a. A man who wears an earring in one ear.
b. A woman with an earring in her nose.
c. A man with a beard or moustache.
d. A woman who wears heavy make-up.
e. A 60-year-old man with long hair.
f. Someone who wears lots of jewellery.
g. Someone who's always laughing.
h. Someone who bites their nails.
i. Someone who has tattoos.
j. Someone with red hair.

it is also up to which culture they come from. if I see vietnamese people like that, I may think they are not nice people or at least they are strange people. However, sometimes we are wrong when we think like that. In my opion, everyone have their reasons when they do something and we can not understand it in the right way unless we were in their situation or close to them.

Although I study much about the westen culture but I still cannot accept "A man who wears an earring in one ear" or "Someone who has tattoos"... like Spring-phan tell us above. It may be because of the culture. I know that the apperance doesn't show the character but it's also very important and we must pay atention.

i agree with tieu long nu, it belongs to the culture where people do those things come from. EG: someone belongs to an ethnic minority, and he wears an earring on his ear, we cannot say that he is not kind or honest, right?
